12 December 2005

Monday marked the end of the vacation, and the morning was spent packing as we had to vacate the cabins by midday. Lunch was provided on the boat, after which we said goodbye to the crew and headed to Luxor airport (and not Aswan as our original tickets had said!) to board an Astraeus Boeing 757-200 (G-OAVB) for the flight back to the UK. A few of us were lucky enough to be seated in the Premiere class area, which basically meant tatty leather seats with a slighty better seat pitch than the economy seats. By halfway home I was wishing we'd got another 737-700 instead. At least the food was good, my troubles having been resolved rather effectively by a short course of Entocid. We finally arrived just after 9pm; thankfully the weather wasn't too cold, a few degrees above freezing.

And that, as they say, is where the story ends.
