At the end of 2005, I spent two weeks on the Pyramids to Abu Simbel tour organised by Voyages Jules Verne. It had been planned as a one week cruise on the Nile, but ended up as a fortnight long family affair, with my parents and youngest brother, Simon, and his wife, Ilona.
